  31. I'm new to the AMOS list, so be gentle with me pleeeeze!  I've been into
  32. AMOS
  33. for years (oo-er and all that), but only recently gotten access to a
  34. modem, so
  35. only recently joined your wonderful mailing list.
  36.  
  37. I intend to spend a bit of time on the list over the next few months, so
  38. here's
  39. a bit of background information for anybody who's interested:
  40.  
  41. I used to be in an AMOS demo group called Cybornetics (whaddaya mean
  42. "Who?!",
  43. we released a few demos in the early 90's, the odd (very odd) game too),
  44. and
  45. since then I've been in several other demo groups, mostly as a
  46. graphician but
  47. doing a bit of ASM coding as well.  My current group is The Vegas
  48. Gunmen, which
  49. is basically four guys having a laugh at the world through the Amiga. 
  50. We use
  51. AMOS for development of 3D routines, stuff like that, then convert it to
  52. Devpac.  We're working on a huge demo at the moment, but that's still
  53. ages away
  54. so I've started coding games in AMOS again in my spare time (Ah-ha!  So
  55. THAT's
  56. why he's joined the list!).

  58. My current miggy set up is an A1200/Blizzard '30 with 18mb, WB 3.1 and
  59. 130mb HD
  60. (which I'm just about to upgrade to a Gig or so).  I've got stuff like a
  61. video
  62. grabber and CD-ROM drive too, all running through as 21" surround sound
  63. TV.

  65. Real life wise (yeah, I've got a real life!) I work as a programmer
  66. mainly
  67. writing Windoze apps and stuff like that.  I don't own a PC though, 'cos
  68. that
  69. would be nasty.  I'm 23, drive a bright red Peugeot 205 XR and buy a
  70. serious
  71. amount of music.  My playstation gets a hammering every now and then
  72. too.

  75. OK, so a couple of AMOS questions then, since that's why I'm here...
  76.  
  77. I need to get my mouse pointer in hires.  Simply because chunky lo-res
  78. looks, to quote The Right Reverend Dominik Diamond, Pants!  I've already
  79. changed it to a bob (which was saved in hires from the object editor
  80. thingy,
  81. whether or not that makes ANY difference) using "Change Mouse 4" (the
  82. pointer's
  83. the first image in the bank).  All the screens are 640*256 Hires, but
  84. the
  85. pointer just stays chunky!  Help!

  87. Also, the F1 home page advertises an AGA extension for about 4 UKP.  Has
  88. anybody got this?  Does it do anything more that the PD Stars extension?
